Shrouded in an aura of mystery as thick as the fog concealing their castles in the high Persian and Syrian mountains, there lived a highly trained group of Assassins led by the Mentor Hasan, or the "Old Man of the Mountains." These Assassins intimidated crusaders and anti-crusaders alike.
